The OBDCheck MS is a professional diagnostics & programming tool for 1996 or newer Ford, Mazda, Mercury and Lincoln vehicles. It is designed to work with FORScan software which has support for manufacturer specific protocols, which means it can show you trouble codes from many other modules, PIDs which are not displayed by generic OBD2 scanners or applications, enable hidden features or disable existing features in your car, and run specific tests and service procedures. In one words, this cost-efficient combination of this scan tool and FORScan can do things that could cost hundreds at the dealer.
MS CAN Support
Ford and Mazda models (approximately since 2003-2004) are equipped with MS CAN bus, in addition to the regular HS CAN bus. However, MS CAN bus is not supported by the normal ELM327 based adapters, because it is a manufacturer-specific solution and uses non-OBD2 pins. With the MS CAN switch, you can access more modules and read more information.
Read and reset diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) for all modules. Engine, transmission, ABS, SRS, TPMS etc. You can check what’s wrong with your vehicle on your own and possibly save you a trip and big cost to the mechanic.
Monitor real time sensors and other data (PIDs) from all modules. There’s tons of information available in your vehicle’s computers, but most of it is not displayed on the vehicle dashboard. Now you can read a whole new world of information about your vehicle.
Programming & Service Function
Change settings in your car such as doors & windows related, program keys, reverse tilt mirrors, tire size correction, disable double horn honk, turn on daytime running lights, disable Auto Start & Stop, and many more.
The device is compatible with 32/64-bit Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10. It may also work with Android devices via OTG. However, FORScan for Android costs a few dollars and functions are limited.
Our OBD2 products work with vehicles (including hybrids) sold in the United States in or after 1996. Vehicles in other regions that are OBD II / EOBD / JOBD may also be supported (Canada – 1998, European Union – 2001 (gas), 2004 (diesel), Australia – 2006 (gas), 2007 (diesel), etc.)
The OBD2 devices are normally designed to read check engine light. However, enhanced diagnostics on selected makes and models are also available when using the appropriate application. Please check with the application developer.
Our WiFi model (VP01) is compatible with iOS & Android phones and tablets while normal Bluetooth model (VP11) only works with Android. The Bluetooth 4.0 LE model (OBDCheck BLE) is compatible with both platforms.
You can leave the Bluetooth models plugged in if you are driving the vehicle frequently. Depending on the battery condition, if you leave your car sitting for days to weeks, we recommend that you remove the OBD2 device. We do not suggest that you leave the WiFi model plugged in if it’s not in use. WiFi consumes significantly more power than Bluetooth.
Install a proper OBD2 app on your phone. Plug the adapter into your car and turn the ignition key to ON or start the engine. Enable Bluetooth or WiFi depending on the model you have and connect to the device (OBDCheck BLE does not require Bluetooth pairing when using with iOS). Start the app and connect (connection setting may be required before connecting. Check the product manual).
A third-party OBD2 app is required to work with our wireless OBD2 devices. There are free and paid ones and some apps provide in-app purchase. Please check the product page for compatible apps and the app page for more information about the features and prices.
O2 Readings, EOT, EGT, Throttle, Boost, Speed, Fuel Trim, DPF Temp, Balance Rates and more.
Remember readable parameters depend on what’s installed on the OBDII system by the manufacturer. Generally, newer vehicles will give more readings and faster refresh speed. Please also note that more sensors you have on the list the refresh frequency is lower due to limited vehicle bus/OBD device throughput. Some readings like transmission temp are manufacturer-specific and you will need the custom PID. Contact the app developer to verify if it’s supported.
Try with a different phone/App/vehicle to see it happens again. If the connection drops and requires unplugging device and re-plugging in to connect again, please contact us for firmware update (OBDCheck BLE only).
Check if the device is powered on. If not, check the cigar fuse of your vehicle. If the device is powered on, make sure you are using a compatible phone/tablet and seeing the right place: WiFi list for VP01, Bluetooth list for VP11 & OBDCheck BLE.
Check the app hardware compatibility first. Then make sure the ignition key is at ON (or start the engine) and the correct connection settings is made in the App. Fully quit the app and re-start it to connect again.
Verify if your vehicle is OBD2 compliant and the ignition key is at ON (check the car manual for the right mode for diagnostics or just start the engine). Check if the OBD II connector is in good condition: no bad pins or wires, no corrosion. If it works with another vehicle, submit the connection log in the app so the app support can further check.
On iOS devices, you will see this error when trying to connect to Bluetooth LE devices from the system Bluetooth Setting. You do not need to connect here. Please reboot your iOS device so “VEEPEAK” shows up again. Then start the app to connect; the app will make the connection.
Try 1234 or 0000.
If you are using an Android phone, there is nothing to do to help. If you use an iOS device, you can switch to Static by inputting the following information for the WiFi so your cellular data is available:
IP 192.168.0.11, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 and Router 192.168.0.10.
